Okay, so no lace, but tattoos, yes.
Yesterday, my husband stated to me he wanted to take me to get the tattoo I've been wanting for a couple of months now. I will say, I saw a picture of something similar on Pinterest and like in cartoons, a light turned on over my head. I don't know why I never thought to get this done before...

You see, "Let It Be" is my favorite Beatles song. There are many reasons for this, but the song took on a whole new meaning when my great grandmother, Mama Mary passed away. It was her favorite song too. When I was growing up, she always said she wanted the song sung at her funeral. I missed her funeral. This thought still floats in my mind a lot.
So, my idea was to get this tattoo. The words "let it be" on the inside of my left wrist. It is in honor of my Mama Mary. The reason I chose my left wrist is because at one point, I read there was an ancient belief that a vein ran from the ring finger to the heart. That is the reason it's tradition to wear a wedding band on the left ring finger. So, for similar reasons, I chose my left wrist, to remind me Mama Mary is always in my heart. Is that cheesy? Maybe. But it is deeply personal for me.
I would also like to point out the font I chose is called "Jane Austen." And y'all all know how I feel about Jane Austen.
I love this tattoo. It's so pretty. I was being all girlish in the tattoo place about it too. By the way, I went to Top Rocker. It was a very nice place and the artists were great. I get a free touch up too. How nice is that?!
It was my birthday present. So, happy birthday to me!

You know I love it...and now I love it even more, knowing the sweet story behind it. {hugs}
