Soapy Nuts Update

So after my last post about soapy nuts, I decided to do some more research about them. I was wondering if I could find soap nuts from a different site, maybe cheaper. I ran across this. A very helpful thing, indeed, which I had not previously read. I didn't have time to read through the entire site at that point though. There is so much information out there, it's hard to weed through it all. And I discovered the guy who writes on that site is the owner of this site. (Since that is a local company, I may order from him in the future.)

Still, I decided to order my soap nuts from a different website. At this point, I think it's pretty much an experiment to see where I can find the best soapy nuts. At the time, I really was concerned about cost and ultimately, Husband made the decision of where to buy. It took a week, but my soap nuts finally arrived on Friday (after I left for my trip).
Sorry, my washroom is really dark

It's hard to tell, but these are lighter than the others I had ordered. They didn't let off that vinegar smell as strong as the others and they were not sticky at all. (They came from Florida as opposed to California, so the seller must have stored them "properly" considering the humidity levels in Florida.)
They came in this cute little bag. :)
I made the liquid or "tea" according to the directions that came with it. There's different info out there about whether soap nuts are effective in cold water or if they need warm or hot water in order to release the saponin.
I left the shells in there just 'cause.
Like I said, it's pretty much an experiment to see what works and what doesn't; how concentrated I want the liquid to be, how many nuts to use, etc. Still I am very impressed with how well they work to clean my clothes and how soft my sheets and towels are after a wash. I'm eager to try it on my counters, in my dishwasher and even my hair.
