I run my first 5K tomorrow. I never thought I'd say "I'm super excited to run a 5K." 10 weeks ago, I didn't even know how many miles a 5K was. (It's 3.1 if you didn't know). 10 weeks ago, I didn't think I'd call myself a runner. I didn't think I could run for 3 minutes at a time. Or 5 minutes. But then I realized I was thinking "No way I can do 10. No way I can do 15. Wow. I can do 3.1 miles without stopping!" And you know what? That's really an amazing thing to me. I am in awe of what the group I run with has been able to do. With their constant support and encouragement, I have managed to train and feel ready for a 5K. So as I go into the Turkey Trot tomorrow, I'm ready. I'm excited. I'm ready to complete my first 5K!
