Today is September First, for those of you who don't know. Today is special because it marks the "official" first anniversary of moving into our very first home.
I had no idea searching for a home would be so much work. But it was. It was stressful. We looked at tons of homes before we found this one and decided this was the one we wanted. It needed and still needs some work. We had to put in all the light fixtures (as the previous owners took all of the old ones). We had to put in a new dishwasher and stove. We have no screens on our windows. The previous owners took them. It really bothers me because when the weather is nice, I like to have the windows open, but without screens it's not a good idea. We still need to paint.
Oh and I am still waiting on my dream-come-true front loading washer and dryer.
But it's so fantastic to live in our own home instead of an apartment. Our kids have a yard to play in.
When the weather is nice, we go out front and all the neighbors on our cul-de-sac come out and the kids ride their bikes and scooters. The grown ups visit. It really is wonderful.
I feel so content at times like these. I know I am blessed. It makes me happy.
