What a piece of.....

It has been reported the governor of South Carolina, Mark Sanford has spent the last seven days in Argentina with his mistress.

While his wife was at home, claiming she had no idea where he was.

While his office said he was hiking on the Appalachian Trail.

When I saw the headlines, the first thought I had was "Hey! Wasn't that the dude trying to refuse money from Obama's stimulus package for his state's schools?" I can't remember his reasonings behind doing so, but I really don't care.

The simple answer to this question is "yup, that's the dude." That says it all for me. The guy's a douche.

What a piece of sh.. um, work. Add another to the Republican Hall of Shameful Hypocrites. I don't know much about this guy, but know he's of the "family values" Republicans who somehow think family values means denying two adults the right to marry because they happen to be gay. All the while committing adultery in a foreign country. Somehow, the whole committing adultery thing hasn't sunk in as one of the "no nos" to these people. Isn't it one of the Commandments? The whole "God says being gay is gross" passage in the Bible was mentioned - along with eating shellfish is gross and sleeping in the same tent with your woman when she's on the rag is gross. Those above offenses are punishable by ostracization and death, by the way. I digress.

Things I want to know and would find exceedingly humorous are: did he use tax payer's money to go? Why did he spend "the last five days of my life crying in Argentina?" Did the mistress dump his crying ass? Or was it because he got caught? Was it because supposedly his wife kicked him out after finding out about the affair (I cannot substantiate this. It was a comment I read)? If she kicked him out, did she kick him out of the governor's mansion? Call me cruel, but I think it would be funny if he used tax payer's money to go. You know, instead of putting that money into the failing schools.

Look, we're all human and we all make mistakes. We all do dumb and hurtful things. The reason this bugs me so much is because the line of bullshit a lot of these conservatives feed us, as if they have the monopoly on "family values." They have highjacked morality and turned it into some sort of sick joke. That is what pisses me off. It is typical for one of these holier-than-thou assholes to be caught in such a fucked up situation.
