So I'm going to start posting some of my favorite videos/songs of back in the day when music didn't suck. There was no such thing as American Idol. There was no Justin Beiber (I still have no clue who this kid is, other than I've tried to watch one of his videos and couldn't). I'm talking mostly early to mid-90's here. Unfortunately, the late 90's led the way for the likes of Britney Spears and I'm sorry, I just don't get her "musical genius" unless by "musical genius" you mean "selling your goodies." So...here we go. We've had a few good bands pop up in the past few years here and there. It's unfortunate they don't get as much play. This is all based on my personal opinion. I, by no means, am a musical genius.
Of course, Nirvana is number one. While Bleach is pretty much the most kicking-assiest of all the Nirvana records (again, in my opinion), Smells Like Teen Spirit brought forth good music to the masses. I have mixed feelings about Nirvana being considered "mainstream." But then again....sometimes the masses need to be taught just what good music is. I pray we get another Kurt Cobain/Nirvana for this generation of kids. They need it.
P.S. I personally believe the 60's and the 90's were the best when it comes to music. Then again, maybe I feel this way about the 90's because it's when I came into my own. Who knows. Hate me for my choices or love me....these are some of my favorites from when music didn't suck.
