I'll admit it, I'm not the best when it comes to organizing or the putting-things-away stuff. I often can't find my keys or cell phone or even *gasp* my wedding ring.
But what happened to Husband once we said "I do" is mind-boggling. He has become increasingly unable to search for anything on his own.
At first, it started out simply enough. I even blamed myself, because like I said, I am not very good at organizing.
But as the years have gone by, I have noticed his ability to look for something diminished. Even if I organized things better! Even if things had a consistent place to go! I started hearing "Hey, babe! Where's such and such thing?!" on a regular basis.
What amazes me even more is that when I step back and watch him actually search for something (this happens few and far between) without asking, he scans. He may slightly move something and call it looking underneath it. But mostly, it's scanning. I watch him for a minute. Then I step in and show him where it is.
I try not to rub it in. But I do wonder when the "I can't find it" syndrome kicked in. I wonder at what point it became worse. And in talking with other married women, it seems it happens to a lot of married men.
This is very concerning. This is something we should be studying and trying to find a cure for.
